The Bible is full of wonderful assurances and promises not only for this life, but for the life to come. To experience these, each of us need to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and accept Him as our own personal Saviour.
The Bible tells us that each of us must:
ACKNOWLEDGE that we have sinned against God who is Holy. That we cannot have our sins forgiven and find peace with God by trying to be good, or by doing the best we can, or because we are a member of a social or religious organisation. For God says that we are not saved by good works. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and that not from yourselves, it is the gift of God not by works, so that no-one can boast. (Ephesians 2:8,9)
BELIEVE that because God loves us, He sent Jesus Christ, His Son, to die on the cross and bare the punishment for our sins. Believe the good news that Jesus was raised from the dead and now lives to save all those who will come to Him in faith. God demonstrates His own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8) He (Jesus) is able to save completely those who come to God through Him, because He always lives to intercede for them. (Hebrews 7:25)
CONFESS and repent of our sins in realisation that we cannot save ourselves. Ask God’s forgiveness through the Lord Jesus Christ and accept Him as our Saviour. "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9) To those who receive Him, to those who believed on His name, He gave the right to become children of God. (John 1:12)
